Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. Her name is well-known for starting modern scientific studies of children's memory as eyewitnesses and the use of child victimization in court. Prof. Goodman has published widely as well as received numerous grants. She has also received numerous national and international awards. She has advised a variety of authorities and government agencies around all over the world on policy and studies pertaining to the treatment of children victims by the legal system. She currently acts as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of numerous professional organizations, like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She was a founder member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
